Preparing for prep – kindergarten 2021

The first five years of a child’s life are a critical time in their development and what they learn in kindergarten will help them flourish through their prep and primary school education.

The first five years of a child’s life are a critical time in their development and kindergarten is an important part of this. At Catholic Early EdCare, we offer kindergarten programs that help children grow and blossom and instill in them a love of learning and self-discovery that will continue to flourish through our prep and primary school partnerships and their further education. We do this by incorporating the latest early education research and practice into our programs and creating spaces where children can connect, grow and discover.

Catholic Early EdCare partners with Brisbane Catholic Education, local schools and parishes to deliver kindergartens that are embedded in their local school and parish communities.

Regular excursions to explore the grounds of co-located schools are a highlight for many of the kindergarten children. This is an opportunity for them to familiarise themselves with a primary school environment, building their confidence for the transition to prep. While in 2020 COVID-19 has delayed many school and community events such as Under Eights Day and athletics carnivals, which the kindergarten children were looking forward to, they are enjoying connecting with the school in new ways through buddy programs and letter writing with school children.

At Catholic Early EdCare we are committed to working with families. We have kindergarten programs available in long day care and sessional kindergarten settings. Most of our kindergartens are co-located with Brisbane Catholic Education schools. Find out more about the program and a kindergarten near you here.
