During Catholic Education Week on 26 July – 1 August 2026, we celebrate the important role education plays in a child’s journey. At Catholic Early EdCare, we believe learning begins from the earliest years and is shaped through meaningful relationships, experiences and partnerships between children, families and educators.
Our six guiding pillars, Respectfully, Socially, Individually, Creatively, Confidently and Spiritually, shape the way we support children across all our programs. They reflect our belief that every child is unique, capable and full of potential.
Across our 136 services throughout South East Queensland, our educators bring these pillars to life by listening to children, nurturing their interests and creating environments where they feel a strong sense of belonging.
Susan Chimonides, Head of Operations, shares how these pillars guide everyday practice: “Our six pillars are not separate ideas; they are the way we see every child, every day. Whether a child is in long day care, kindergarten, or school-aged care, our focus is on helping them feel safe, known and supported as they grow into who they are becoming.”
At Catholic Early EdCare, we walk alongside families through every stage of childhood. Through our long day care, kindergarten, outside school hours care (OSHC) and vacation care programs, we support children to build confidence, develop friendships and discover their strengths.
Through our OSHC and vacation care programs, we also work closely with Brisbane Catholic Education primary schools to support continuity of care and a shared sense of belonging across school and care environments.

While each program looks different, our commitment remains the same: creating environments where every child feels valued, respected and supported.
Families are at the heart of what we do. We know parents and carers are a child’s first and most important educators, and we value the opportunity to work together to support each child’s individual journey.
This Catholic Education Week, we celebrate the relationships that help children thrive, the connection between families, educators, schools and communities.
