Vacation care

Are you looking for care these school holidays? Catholic Early EdCare's vacation care programs are open and taking enquires now.

Vacation care provides primary school aged children with a fun, engaging and enriching school holiday program designed to spark imagination, build friendships and keep children active and inspired. At Catholic Early EdCare, our vacation care services are jam-packed with exciting experiences, including special incursion with hands-on activities, creative workshops and active outdoor play, as well as exciting excursions and in-service days that bring each day to life.

Our programs are open to all children, even if they do not usually attend our OSHC service, making it easy for families to access high-quality care during the school holidays. Educators design experiences that respond to children’s interests and encourage curiosity, teamwork and confidence, while supporting their wellbeing and development in a safe and inclusive environment. Every day is different, with opportunities to explore, create, connect and have fun with friends during the school holidays.

School holidays are the perfect opportunity for children to get outside, stay active and enjoy their time in a safe, engaging and supportive environment.

At Catholic Early EdCare, our Holiday Adventurers vacation care program is available at 112 services across South East Queensland, supporting families connected to Brisbane Catholic Education schools as well as the wider community.

We offer more than just care during the school holidays, it’s a place where children can explore, connect and thrive. With familiar educators they already know and trust, children feel comfortable and confident as they take part in a variety of enriching experiences.

From exciting incursions and hands-on activities to active outdoor play and group games, each day is thoughtfully planned to support wellbeing, build friendships and spark curiosity.

Child Care Subsidy (CCS)

Catholic Early EdCare is an approved child care service provider for the Australian Government’s child care subsidy. This means your family may be able to access financial assistance reducing your out-of-pocket expense. The level of support your family receives depends on a number of factors including your family’s combined income, the child care fees you are charged. From 5 January 2026, the Australian Government is introducing the new 3-Day Guarantee, making early childhood education and care more affordable and accessible for more families. Under this initiative, CCS-eligible families will receive at least three days of subsidised care per week (72 hours per fortnight), regardless of work or study commitments.

Eligible families already receiving CCS will automatically qualify for the new 3-Day Guarantee. To find out what support you are eligible for and to complete an assessment, visit the Services Australia website.

Exciting incursions and activities

Holiday Adventurers vacation care provides a safe, supportive environment led by qualified educators where children connect with others and enjoy their holidays. Exciting incursions bring hands-on learning through science, art, cooking, and sport activities that spark curiosity and fun. Each day blends structured experiences with outdoor play and free choice, helping children build confidence, friendships and independence.

Healthy eating and snacks

At Catholic Early EdCare, we prioritise healthy eating by following the Australian dietary guidelines, offering nutritious morning and afternoon tea options, including vegetarian and gluten-free choices, depending on the service. We encourage children to respect food portions and to line up patiently for their turn. We ask that you pack a nut-free, nutritious lunch for your child that doesn’t require heating or cooking. Don’t forget to include a refillable water bottle. For more information on our dietary guidelines, please visit www.nutritionaustralia.org
