St John Vianney’s Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) is situated at the top of a hill by the bayside, overlooking Moreton Bay, the Bay Islands, and Manly Harbour. We embrace the bay culture at OSHC and take advantage of our beautiful surroundings with trips to the waterside and education about our local sea life.

We are located in the middle of St John Vianney’s Primary School, central to all classrooms, school amenities and facilities adjacent to the undercover area, opening out to the school oval, playground and ball courts.

Our service is managed by Catholic Early EdCare on behalf of St John Vianney’s Parish. The service works closely with the parish, school, parents, guardians and the wider community to deliver a quality care service. Around one third of the children from St John Vianney’s Primary School regularly attend the OSHC service, along with students from Iona College who join us for after school care and vacation care.

Our educators participate in extensive training to enhance of our service, in order to deliver a program which enriches the children.

Meet Our Staff

Heidi Morgenstern

I’ve been an early ed coordinator for:
Just over a year.
My favourite thing about being an early ed coordinator is:
I love everything about being a Coordinator. Here at St John Vianney’s OSHC I am proud to say we have established such an amazing team of educators. I am fortunate enough to be surrounded by educators studying a vast range of university degrees including teaching, nursing, speech pathology and business. The energy of the staffing team is contagious and this is reflected in the children’s actions. I am greeted every single morning and afternoon by the children’s smiling faces and I think every day how lucky I am to get to have such an important role in their lives. I therefore take my role as a Coordinator (teacher and friend) very seriously and never for granted.
Something I like to tell all mums and dads is:
We are one big family. Every child’s individual needs are respected and supported by all staff and fellow peers. We pride ourselves on having children of all ages interacting and playing with one another every day. The older students proudly take on the role of providing guidance for the younger children and in return the younger children look up to and aspire to be like our older role models. We offer a wide range of activities every afternoon including but not limited to craft activities, sporting games outside, playground, movies and cooking. We also have a homework club where we assist children in small groups with their homework. We have also started a program we have called OSHCfit which is run like a boot camp. This is organised by some of our eager staff studying education on a Wednesday morning and encourages the children to be active and energised ready to start their day.
My favourite way to relax is:
Whenever I am not at work I am spending time with my not so little puppy, Cosmo.
