Assisi Outside School Hours Care is located on the grounds of St Mary’s Parish, Assisi Catholic College and St Mary’s Long Day Care + Kindergarten. We are fortunate to be part of this positive and supportive community. Our program supports working families by providing a safe environment before and after school that is designed to cater to their children’s age, skills, interests and abilities.

We run a flexible and adaptable child-initiated program incorporating children’s ideas, cultures and interests. We view each child as having preparedness, potential, curiosity and interest in constructing their own learning and in negotiating everything the environment presents to them. We provide guidance and support to children so they can discover, explore and create something new everyday.

Our centre strives to foster a culture that celebrates diversity and interdependence and we encourage children to value and respect each other. Our children participate in the Active After School Communities program for one afternoon per week over a seven week period each term. This is a Government funded scheme which gives children the opportunity to participate in a variety of different sports during after school, free of additional fees.

Meet Our Staff

Kerrie Mahoney

I’ve been an early ed coordinator for:
Six years.
My favourite thing about being an early ed coordinator is:
Having the ability to have a positive impact on children and families. Working with a team of educators who are passionate about creating a positive, inclusive and supportive environment. Parenting is incredibly difficult and being able to provide a space that children enjoy and where families know they can seek support is without a doubt my favourite aspect of being a Coordinator.
Something I like to tell all mums and dads is:
Our priority is to support them, their children and families. We have an open door policy, and we encourage parents and extended family to become involved in our program, we aim to create a culture within our service where the families feel like OSHC is a home away from home. Everyone is welcome, respected and valued within our OSHC family.
My favourite way to relax is:
Working out at the gym.
