Kindergarten enrolment

Applications for kindergarten in 2025 are now open at all Catholic Early EdCare services. Find your local service below and enquire today.

The first five years of a child’s life are a critical time in their development and kindergarten is an important part of this. Kindergarten is a time for children to develop confidence, a sense of self and a willingness to explore which they will carry with them into prep and throughout their life.

At Catholic Early EdCare we focus on every child as an individual. Our teachers will create learning opportunities based on your child’s interests. We offer flexible programs that accommodate all developmental stages. Each day through both planned and spontaneous experiences our teachers will nurture your child’s growth in accordance with the key developmental areas identified in the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines.

Our kindergartens are at the heart of a broader community. With close ties to our school, parish and local communities we regularly visit and participate in events and activities they host. Your child’s confidence in the school environment will continually grow as they build relationships with school teachers and students and familiarise themselves with the environment and routines.

To be eligible for kindergarten in 2025 your child must turn four by June 30 2025.

The main difference between long day care and sessional kindergarten

Both our long day care centres and sessional kindergartens offer a Queensland Government approved kindergarten program, but there are some differences. Sessional kindergartens run during school terms and school hours, meaning the program runs for 40 weeks per year, from 8:30am to 2:45pm. At many of our sessional kindergartens additional hours of care are available through before and after kindy care though, so we encourage you to speak to the teacher about this.

In long day care centres the kindergarten program also runs 40 weeks of the year during school hours, however, as part of the same program additional hours of care are provided in the morning, afternoon and during school holidays.

At both Catholic Early EdCare sessional kindergartens and long day care centres, the kindergarten program is run by university qualified early childhood teachers. This means your children will benefit from the best in early education teaching in a play based environment.

"The teachers here are wonderful and very welcoming. Our child was initially quite shy and Xavier Kindy had really helped bring her out of her shell. She loves going and wishes she could go every day."
