At St Joseph’s College Kindergarten + Outside School Hours Care we believe each child is unique and learns differently, so our educators will spend time getting to know your child and family so that we can create engaging learning experiences that capture their interest and help them build new skills.

We offer a Queensland Government approved sessional kindergarten program. This program is taught by a university qualified early childhood teacher and children complete a five-day fortnight, during school hours and school terms. Before and after kindergarten care is also available for all children.

During kindergarten your child will benefit from our close relationship with the school. They enjoy visits to the school library, prep classrooms and playgrounds and attending school events. During each visit your child will become more familiar with the school grounds and learn new skills such as how to use the water bubblers and where to find the toilets. Our educators will watch your child’s confidence grow as they become part of our broader school and parish community and prepare for prep.

Our outside school hours care offers before and after school care for children from kindergarten to grade six. We offer a flexible and child initiated program with educators incorporating children’s ideas, cultures and interests when planning each day’s experiences. Our team will drop off and collect children from St Joseph’s College each day. Children are offered a healthy breakfast and after school snacks, which they help prepare.

"Thank you for loving, caring for and teaching our beautiful girl. She comes home burst with stories and knowledge and leaves for school with the biggest smile on her face each day. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for everything that you do and the countless hours you put in to plan for these amazing learning experiences."

Tiffany and Warren

"A million thanks for all the time, effort and care all the educators put into each day. You make our mornings and holidays easy, and filled with special fun activities which we come home bubbling with stories to share. "

Before and after school care

Children who attend our before and after school care programs engage in a range of experiences designed to respond to their interests. The opportunity to interact with new friends of different ages helps the children grow socially, with the older children enjoying the responsibility of encouraging and playing alongside their younger buddies. Children can choose quieter options or take up the invitation to join in active outside play including gardening, sports activities and games.

Growing green thumbs

Children get their hands dirty while learning about plants and nature in the vegetable garden. They understand that it takes care and patience to make things grow and enjoy eating the produce they have nurtured themselves. Becoming gardeners helps the children to grow respectfully, appreciative of the world around them.
