Our centre is located in a bushland setting within the grounds of St Augustine’s Parish Primary School as part of the Coolangatta -Tugun Parish community.

Our Outside School Hours Care program supports working families by providing a safe environment before and after school that is designed to cater to their children’s age, skills, interests and abilities.

We run a flexible and adaptable child-initiated program incorporating children’s ideas, cultures and interests. We view each child as having preparedness, potential, curiosity and interest in constructing their own learning and in negotiating everything the environment presents to them. We provide guidance and support to children so they can discover, explore and create something new everyday.

Our centre strives to foster a culture that celebrates diversity and interdependence and we encourage children to value and respect each other.

We encourage free play and promote both indoor and outdoor, individual and group activities.

Quiet moments, big learning

Through child-led indoor experiences like board games, drawing or reading, children can follow their interests, build focus, and enjoy calm, thoughtful play. These quieter moments offer space for problem-solving, connection and creativity — all at their own pace.

Friendships that help us grow

OSHC is a place where children build friendships, learn to support one another, and enjoy the fun of being together. Whether they’re playing, chatting or working as a team, these social moments help children feel connected, confident and part of a caring community.

Connection from drop-off to pick-up

Our educators prioritise meaningful check-ins with each child — at the start of the session, throughout the day and as they leave with family. These moments help us understand how each child is feeling, support their needs and build strong, trusting relationships. It’s all part of our commitment to genuine connection with both children and families, every step of the way.

A tasty break to recharge

Afternoon tea at OSHC is a chance for children to refuel after a big day at school. With a selection of healthy snacks and fresh fruit, they’re encouraged to serve themselves, make choices, and enjoy a moment to pause, connect with friends, and get ready for more fun ahead.

Child Care Subsidy

Families can access either permanent or casual bookings at our services.

Catholic Early EdCare is an approved child care service provider for the Australian Government’s child care subsidy. This means your family may be able to access financial assistance reducing your out of pocket expense. The level of support your family receives depends on a number of factors including your family’s combined income, the child care fees you are charged and the number of hours you and your partner work, train or volunteer in a fortnight.

To access the subsidy you will need to complete an assessment through Centrelink. To find out what support you are eligible for and to complete an assessment visit this website.
